Heather Friedman, ND LAc
Heather is a Naturopathic doctor and licensed acupuncturist in Oregon and has been in practice since 2015. She is a Chicago native and relocated to Portland from the Denver area in 2005. She has been studying herbs since 2010 and has a Bachelor of Sciences from the University of Colorado with an emphasis on Exercise Science. She graduated with a Doctorate in Naturopathic medicine and a Master's in Acupuncture from the National College of Natural Medicine in 2015. She has been associated with a local non-profit community health center, Quest Center for Integrative health, in some capacity since 2006 and currently holds a position as a Community Nutrition Night Coordinator and Acupuncturist. She is in private practice at the Bodhi Tree Clinic in Northeast Portland, Oregon and is currently accepting new patients.
Heather has a particular interest in international health equality. She has participated abroad in Haiti, Nepal, and Mexico helping to bring health services to underserved populations. As an acupuncture student, Heather took a special interest in treating body pain through myofascial trigger point therapy combined with other modalities such as gua sha, cupping, and hydrotherapy. As a health practitioner, she believes that empowering the patient, individualizing treatment plans, and encouraging the body's own natural capacities are the foundation to achieving optimum health and well being.
Outside of the clinic, Heather can be found riding her bike, getting into her garden, practicing yoga, reading, listening to music and comedy, and enjoying the company of her friends and family. She believes that the key to health is love, laughter, and friendship and makes an everyday effort to live by these values.
